Egg and cheese casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 item
- eggs, beaten - 5 item
- butter, melted - 1/2 c
- paprika - 1 item
- pepper - 1 item
- parsley flakes - 1 item
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 12 oz
- sausage, browned and crumbled - 1 lb
- slices torn bread with crusts - 12 item
How to make egg and cheese casserole:
Place alternate layers of bread, cheese and sausage in greased 9 x 12-inch (2-quart) baking dish. Beat eggs and milk; add salt and pepper. Pour over bread layers and refrigerate overnight.Remove to room temperature. Before baking, pour 1/2 cup melted butter over layers; sprinkle with paprika and parsley flakes. Place pan in a pan of hot water and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
May also use bacon, ham, mushrooms, green peppers, etc.
