  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • all-purpose flour
  • Topping:4 medium apples, sliced

How to make dutch apple cake:

Topping:4 medium apples, sliced2 Tbsp. sugar1/2 tsp. cinnamon In one bowl, mix together topping ingredients. Set aside. Beat eggs, then add sugar. Sift flour and baking powder; add to egg mixture. Beat for 1 minute on medium speed then scrape bowl. Beat for 2 more minutes. Pour into 8-inch square pan. Place Topping mixture on top. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
