  • water - 3 qt
  • cider vinegar - 1 qt
  • rock salt - 1 c
  • heads dill - 2 item
  • alum - 1/4 tsp
  • clove garlic - 1 item
  • cucumbers - 1 item

How to make dill pickles:

In each jar, put 2 heads of dill, a clove of garlic, alum and cucumbers. Bring water, vinegar and salt to boil. Pour over pickles and seal. Turn upside-down for 3 to 4 hours. Ready to eat in 6 weeks.
