Creamed chipped beef on toast
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- peeled and chopped yellow onion - 3 Tbsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- hot milk - 2 c
- dried chipped beef - 1/2 lb
- paprika - 1/4 tsp
- freshly ground black pepper to taste - 1 item
- Tabasco sauce optional - 1 item
- dry sherry - 1 Tbsp
How to make creamed chipped beef on toast:
In a heavy saucepan, melt the butter and saute the onion until clear. Stir in the flour with a whisk and the hot milk, stirring all the time, until the mixture thickens. When the mixture is thick, add the remaining ingredients; heat for a moment. Serve over toast. Makes 4 servings.Recipe categories: Breakfast, < 30 mins, Main dish.
