Corn casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- plain flour - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- can whole kernel corn, drained - 1 item
- chopped pimento - 1 tsp
- can cream-style corn - 1 item
- paprika for top - 1 item
- beaten eggs measure eggs before beating - 1/2 c
How to make corn casserole:
Melt butter over low heat. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk and cook over medium heat until mixture is thickened and bubbly, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in next 3 ingredients (eggs, salt and pepper). Add both cans of corn and pimento. Spoon into buttered baking dish and top with paprika. Fill metal cake pan with 1-inch of water and place casserole dish in this to bake.
