Chop suey
Ingredients/Components
- medium onion, minced - 1 item
- cup water - 1 item
- water chestnuts - 1 item
- tsp pepper - 1 item
- Tbsp flour - 2 item
- Tbsp soy sauce - 3 item
- Tbsp oil - 1 item
- 1/2 cups celery - 1 item
- lb lean pork, cubed - 1/2 item
- lb veal, cubed - 1/2 item
- 2 oz can mushroom pieces - 1 item
- #2 can bean sprouts - 1 item
How to make chop suey:
Heat oil and brown pork and veal lightly. Add onion, brown lightly. Stir in flour, pepper and water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cover and cook 1 hour. Add celery and mushrooms and cook 15 minutes more. Add bean sprouts, soy sauce and water chestnuts during last 5 minutes of cooking. Serve over rice.
