Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2 c
  • salt
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • margarine - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • chicken bouillon cubes - 2 item
  • sliced carrots - 1/2 c
  • sliced celery - 1/2 c
  • diced potatoes - 2 c
  • shredded cheese - 2 c
  • chopped celery leaves - 2 Tbsp
  • either seafood, ham or cooked bacon - 1 2

How to make cheddar chowder:

Simmer vegetables in water and bouillon cubes for 10 minutes. Do not drain. Make a white sauce with the flour, milk, salt and pepper. Add to vegetables. Then add cheese and stir until melted. Stir in the desired meat.
