Cheddar chowder
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 1
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- boiling water - 2 c
- 8 oz - 2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- sliced carrots - 1/2 c
- sliced celery - 1/2 c
- diced potatoes - 1 c
- cubed ham - 1 c
- cauliflowerets - 2 c
How to make cheddar chowder:
In saucepan, combine water, vegetables, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Do not drain. In large saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour, them milk and heat to boiling. Continue simmering, stirring constantly until thickened. Add Cheddar cheese. Stir until melted. Add undrained vegetables and ham. Heat through, but do not boil. Freezes well.
