Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2 c
  • salt
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • margarine - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • cheese - 2 c
  • chopped potatoes - 2 c
  • carrots, chopped - 1/2 c
  • celery slices - 1/2 c
  • ham cubes - 1 c

How to make cheddar chowder:

Combine water, vegetables, seasonings and ham. Cover and simmer 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Make a white sauce of margarine, milk and flour. Add cheese and stir until melted. Stir into vegetables and ham mixture and heat until almost bubbly. Makes 3 quarts. Enjoy.
