Caviar mousse
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 2 c
- cold water - 2 Tbsp
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- envelope unflavored gelatin - 1 item
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- prepared mustard - 1 tsp
- mayonnaise - 2 Tbsp
- or 2 dashes hot pepper sauce - 1 item
- black caviar - 4 oz
How to make caviar mousse:
Soften gelatin in cold water, then dissolve in hot water. Let cool. Add lemon juice, pepper sauce, mustard and mayonnaise to gelatin and water. Fold in sour cream and stir in caviar. Pour into 3 or 4-cup mold. Chill until set; unmold. Serve with Melba toast rounds. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Eggs/dairy, Egg, Appetizers.
