  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • butter - 1 item
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • chopped tart apples, peeled and cored

How to make huguenot torte:

In a bowl, beat eggs until frothy and lemon-colored. Add sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Mix until smooth. Stir in apples, pecans and vanilla. Mix well. Put mixture in a buttered 12 x 8-inch baking pan. Bake at 325° for about 45 minutes or until crusty and brown on top. Serve with vanilla ice cream. Serves 6.
