Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • light corn syrup - 1/4 c
  • popcorn - 15 c

How to make caramel corn:

Cook brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until bubbly around edges. Continue cooking 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in baking soda until foamy. Pour over popcorn. Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, in a 200° oven.
