Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 c
- butter - 1 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- popped corn - 7 qt
- cream of tartar - 1/8 tsp
- light syrup - 1/2 c
How to make caramel corn:
Cook to soft ball stage sugar, butter and syrup (238°). Remove from heat and add soda, salt and cream of tartar, mixing with wooden spoon. Immediately pour over popped corn and mix well. Pour equal amounts on three cookie sheets with sides. Bake in a 200° oven for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Spread out on foil or wax paper to cool.
