Caramel corn
Ingredients/Components
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- light corn syrup - 1/2 c
- popped corn - 12 qt
- light brown sugar - 2 c
- sticks butter - 2 item
- pinch of cream of tartar - 1 item
How to make caramel corn:
Bring mixture of sugar, syrup, butter and salt to a boil; cook to soft ball stage. Remove from heat; add 1/2 teaspoon soda and cream of tartar. Pour over popped corn; mix well. Put in pan; bake in oven for 1 hour at 200°. Remove from oven; place on waxed paper and separate. After it is cool, place in sealed jar or plastic bag.Marilyn Foelker's recipe.
