Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 3/4 c
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
How to make buttermilk biscuits:
Preheat oven to 450°. Combine the first 5 ingredients, mixing well. Cut in shortening. Combine buttermilk and soda; add to dry ingredients, stirring until all ingredients are moistened. Turn dough onto a floured board. Knead lightly 10 to 12 times. Roll dough out; cut with cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
