  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • buttermilk
  • baking powder - 1 Tbsp
  • shortening - 5 Tbsp
  • sifted flour - 2 c

How to make buttermilk biscuits:

Mix all dry ingredients together; cut in shortening. Add milk. Mix well. Place on well floured board; roll out to 1/2-inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter. Bake in well-greased pan at 350° until brown.
