  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • butter
  • hard-boiled eggs, sliced - 4 item
  • crushed potato chips - 1 item
  • mild Cheddar cheese, grated - 14 oz
  • cans asparagus spears or chopped, well drained - 3 item

How to make asparagus casserole:

White Sauce:3 Tbsp. butter3 Tbsp. flour1/4 tsp. salt1 c. milk Layer the first 4 ingredients; repeat layers.

White Sauce: Make a roux with the butter and flour, then add the salt and milk. Stir constantly over low heat until it thickens. Pour over layers. Can add toasted almonds (optional). Bake at 350° to 375° until it bubbles (approximately 15 to 20 minutes). Serves 12 to 16.
