Asparagus casserole



  • melted butter - 1/4 c
  • all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • cooked asparagus - 3 c
  • buttered bread crumbs - 3/4 c

How to make asparagus casserole:

Combine butter and flour in a small saucepan over low heat. Blend until smooth. Gradually stir milk into flour mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened. Add cheese and salt, stirring until cheese melts. Place asparagus in a lightly greased 2-quart casserole. Add cheese sauce. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes. Yields 4 to 5 servings.
