Vegetarian meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- garlic salt - 1/4 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- fine bread crumbs - 2 c
- small curd cottage cheese - 2 c
- onion, chopped fine - 1/2 c
- wheat germ - 1/4 c
- pecans, finely chopped - 1 c
How to make vegetarian meatballs:
Saute onion in butter until tender and golden brown. Add all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Form into walnut size balls and place on a cookie sheet. Cover with Saran wrap and place in refrigerator for 24 hours. Fry balls in oil until golden brown, turning gently not to break them. Put in a casserole, cover with mushroom gravy and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Makes 3 dozen meatballs.To make gravy, mix together 1 cup mushroom soup and 1 cup of water or milk and pour over casserole.
