Turkey gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- tomatoes, chopped - 2 c
- salt to taste - 1 item
- turkey necks, cut up - 3 lb
- chicken broth or water - 3 c
- onions, diced - 1 c
- okra - 2 c
- rice - 1/3 c
- parsley sprigs, chopped - 1 item
How to make turkey gumbo:
Cut turkey necks up and flour lightly. Saut?© in butter until brown. Combine turkey and broth and simmer covered for 40 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, except parsley. Simmer for 20 minutes more. Add more broth if desired and sprinkle with parsley. Serves 2 to 4.Recipe categories: Main dish, Gumbo, Stew.
