Sweet and sour carrots
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- soy sauce - 2 tsp
- carrots, diagonally sliced - 1 lb
- pineapple chunks in juice - 1 (8
- medium green pepper, cut in 1-inch squares - 1 item
How to make sweet and sour carrots:
In saucepan, cook carrots until tender. Add peppers; cook slightly. Drain pineapple. Keep juice. Add water to juice to make 1/3 cup liquid. Remove carrots and peppers. Discard water. In pan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in pineapple liquid, vinegar and soy sauce. Cook until bubbly. Add vegetables and pineapple.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Carrots.
