Squash casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/3 c
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- margarine, divided - 4 Tbsp
- medium yellow squash - 3 item
- fine bread crumbs or cracker crumbs - 1/2 c
How to make squash casserole:
Cook squash and onion in small amount of salted water until tender; drain. Add bread crumbs (reserving 1 tablespoon for top). Add cheese, egg, salt, pepper and 2 tablespoons margarine. Spoon into a greased casserole. Top with remaining crumbs and dot with 2 tablespoons margarine. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes or until brown.Recipe categories: Squash, Side dish, Casseroles.
