Spiced coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- flour
- firmly packed brown sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- unsweetened cocoa - 2 tsp
- butter or margarine - 3/4 c
- baking powder
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cream cheese - 1 pkg
- sugar
- vanilla
- eggs - 3 item
- milk - 1/2 c
How to make spiced coffee cake:
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease 10-inch tube pan. Combine 1/2 cup of flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and cocoa. Cut in 1/4 cup of butter until mix resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.Combine baking powder, nutmeg, salt and 2 1/4 cups flour. In a large bowl, cream the cream cheese with 1/2 cup butter. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and eggs, one at a time. Mix in 1/3 flour mix and then 1/2 of milk. Repeat. Spread evenly in pan. Sprinkle with reserved cinnamon mixture. Bake about 45 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Turn onto serving platter. Serve warm.
