Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- bay leaf - 1 item
- olive oil - 1 item
- red wine - 1 item
- medium onions, chopped - 2 item
- large can tomatoes - 1 item
- large bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- garlic cloves, chopped - 3 item
- file powder - 1 Tbsp
- shrimp, cleaned and deveined - 1 lb
- hot pepper, chopped - 1 item
How to make shrimp creole:
Saute the onions, garlic, bay leaf and peppers in hot oil until onions are translucent. Add the tomatoes, reserving the juice.When the tomatoes begin to disintegrate, add the juice and file powder. Simmer over low heat for half an hour, adding red wine or a little water if needed to keep the sauce liquid. Add the shrimp and cook 5 to 7 minutes more until shrimp are done.
