Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 3 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • water - 6 c
  • salad oil - 1 c
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • chopped onions - 2 c
  • chopped parsley - 2 Tbsp
  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • cloves garlic, chopped - 2 item
  • red pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • small cans tomato paste - 2 item
  • large can tomatoes - 1 item
  • chopped bell peppers - 1 c
  • chopped scallion tops - 2 Tbsp
  • raw shrimp, deveined - 3 lb

How to make shrimp creole:

Heat oil; stir in flour. Add onions, celery, peppers and garlic; cook until soft. Add tomatoes and tomato paste; mix well. Cook 5 minutes. Add water, red and black pepper; simmer 1 hour. Add shrimp; cook 15 minutes. Add parsley and scallions 5 minutes before serving. Serve over rice.
