Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- water - 2 c
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- medium tomatoes - 3 item
- bay leaf - 1 item
- cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
- seafood seasoning - 1 item
- medium onions, chopped - 2 item
- medium bell peppers, chopped - 2 item
- raw, unpeeled shrimp - 2 lb
How to make shrimp creole:
Boil shrimp with the seafood seasoning to taste for 12 minutes. Let soak in same water for 1/2 hour. Peel shrimp.Combine flour and oil in a heavy skillet and brown flour until dark brown, being careful to stir constantly to avoid scorching. Slowly add water to avoid lumps.
Bring to a boil. Add all ingredients, except shrimp. Simmer 20 minutes. Add shrimp and 2 teaspoons seafood seasoning. Simmer 10 minutes. Serve over white rice. Serves 6.
