Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- cooking oil - 1/2 c
- garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 2 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- tomato juice - 1 c
- hot cooked rice - 3 c
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- small green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- raw shrimp - 2 lb
- dashes hot sauce - 4 item
How to make shrimp creole:
Drop shrimp into boiling water. Boil 2 to 5 minutes. Rinse, drain, peel and devein. Saute onions, pepper and celery in oil; add flour and stir well. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes. Add shrimp and tomato juice. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Add frozen peas and cook 10 to 15 minutes. Serve over hot rice.
