Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 item
  • shortening - 3 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • chopped celery - 3/4 c
  • can tomatoes, cut up - 1 item
  • black pepper - 1 item
  • small bay leaf - 1 item
  • bell pepper - 1/2 c
  • clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
  • red pepper - 1 item
  • beef bouillon cube - 1 item
  • raw shrimp - 1 2
  • sprig parsley - 1 item
  • mushrooms reserve liquid - 2 oz
  • few dashes thyme - 1 item

How to make shrimp creole:

Combine shortening, onion, pepper, celery and drained mushrooms in a skillet. Cook until limp. Add rest of ingredients (including mushroom liquid), except shrimp. Cover and simmer slowly for 30 minutes. Add raw shrimp. Return to boil and simmer. Serves 6 to 8.
