  • vanilla - 1 Tbsp
  • self-rising flour
  • Wesson oil
  • eggs - 3 item
  • bottle red food coloring - 1 item
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • Add food coloring last
  • stick butter, softened - 1 item
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • box 10x sugar - 1 item

How to make red velvet cake:

Mix all ingredients except food coloring. Add food coloring last. Makes 3 layers. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Icing For Red Velvet Cake:1 large pkg. cream cheese (room temperature)1 stick butter, softened1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped nuts1 box 10x sugar Mix all ingredients together and spread between layers and on top and sides of cake.
