Ingredients/Components
- sifted Swans Down cake flour - 3 c
- eggs room temperature - 5 item
- sticks butter room temperature - 2 item
- Crisco room temperature - 1/2 c
- sugar - 3 c
- milk - 1 c
- pinch salt - 1 item
- vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
- lemon flavoring - 1 tsp
How to make pound cake:
Cream butter and Crisco together. Add sugar a little at a time and cream together well, then add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each one. Then add flour alternately with milk, beating well each time. Add salt and flavorings. Put cake in tube pan in a cold oven. Turn to 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes, then cut cake and let it stay in for 20 more minutes, then take out.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
