  • eggs - 6 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • butter or margarine - 1/2 lb
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • sifted plain flour
  • Combine all ingredients
  • or more confectioners sugar - 1 c

How to make pound cake:

Sift the flour and baking powder 3 times. Combine all ingredients. Start in cold oven. Turn to 325° and bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or longer. Take out when you can barely see a fingerprint. Frost with Lemon Sauce while hot.Lemon Sauce: juice and g
