Pound cake



  • sugar
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • self-rising flour - 1 c
  • cake flour - 2 c
  • butter or Crisco - 1 c
  • canned milk - 1 c
  • large eggs, separated - 6 item

How to make pound cake:

Beat butter and sugar well. Add egg yolks one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Add flour and milk a little at a time. Beat egg whites and fold into batter. Add vanilla. Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours, then turn to 350° and bake another 30 minutes. Makes a large cake.
