Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 gal
- salt - 1 item
- flour - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1 item
- potatoes - 5 lb
- onion - 1 item
- bacon - 1 pkg
How to make potato soup:
Peel and cube potatoes; boil until they are almost done. Drain. Dice the onion; add to potatoes. Remove the majority of fat from the bacon. Dispose of fat. Fry the bacon. Remove the bacon; add to potatoes. Using the grease from the bacon, create a roux with the 1/4 cup of flour. Add 4 cups of milk. Allow to thicken. Pour into potatoes. Add remainder of milk, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer 30 minutes.Recipe categories: Potato, Vegetables, Soups & stews.
