  • milk
  • salt - 3 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • boiling water - 1 item
  • paprika - 1/8 tsp
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • potatoes - 3 lb
  • parsley - 2 Tbsp
  • medium onions - 4 item

How to make scalloped potatoes:

Preheat oven to 400°. Lightly grease dish. Wash, pare, thinly slice potatoes and onions. Cover in small amount of boiling water with 2 teaspoons salt for about 5 minutes or until slightly tender. Drain.

Melt butter in saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in flour, pepper, paprika and the remaining salt until smooth. Blend in milk. Cook, stirring over medium heat to boiling point. In dish, layer 1/3 potatoes and onion. Sprinkle parsley and top with 1/3 sauce. Repeat. Bake, uncovered, for 35 minutes.
