Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- eggs, separated - 4 item
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- pineapple juice - 1 c
- crushed pineapple, drained
How to make pineapple cake:
Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in egg yolks, vanilla, soda and pineapple. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt alternating with pineapple juice. Beat egg whites stiff and fold into batter. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350° until toothpick comes out clean. Cool. Frost with white icing.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Pineapple.
