Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- cooking oil - 1/2 c
- soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- celery slices
- round steak, cubed - 4 5
- large bell peppers, cut in thin strips - 2 item
- can or 3 large ripe tomatoes - 1 item
- salt to taste if fresh tomatoes are used - 1 item
How to make pepper steak:
Cut cube steak in thin strips and season well with garlic salt, pepper and sprinkle of ginger. Brown lightly in deep skillet with 1/2 cup oil. Remove from skillet. Saute celery slices and pepper strips. When "crisp-tender" or color has changed, add meat, soy sauce and cornstarch dissolved in water (may add more water as mixture thickens). Cook about 3 minutes. Add diced tomatoes and salt. Heat well. Serve over rice or noodles.Recipe categories: Main dish, Meat, Beef.
