Oven caramel corn
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 c
- butter - 1 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- dark corn syrup - 1/2 c
- dry roasted peanuts - 1 c
- popcorn, popped - 5 qt
How to make oven caramel corn:
Combine syrup, sugar, butter and salt. Boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in soda. Pour immediately over corn and nuts in large roasting pan. Bake in slow oven, 250° for one hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool and store in tightly covered container. Also freezes. Yields 5 quarts.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, Gluten Free.
