Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • dry mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1 tsp
  • ketchup - 1/2 c
  • medium onions, chopped - 2 item
  • beans - 2 lb
  • cubed salt pork - 3/4 lb

How to make mother's baked beans:

Soak beans overnight or boil until tender. Add other ingredients. Place in crock; bake slowly, adding water to keep moist. Add milk last hour of baking. Bake 4 or 5 hours.
