Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • chocolate chips - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • peanut butter - 1/2 c
  • brown sugar, packed - 1 c
  • quick oats - 1 c
  • softened margarine - 1/2 c
  • coconut optional - 1/2 c
  • nuts or sunflower seeds - 1/2 c

How to make monkey bars:

Combine flour, sugar, margarine, salt, soda, vanilla and egg. Beat at medium speed for 1 to 2 minutes. Add oats, peanut butter and coconut. Spread dough in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan with hands. Sprinkle top with chocolate chips and nuts. Bake 15 to 20 minutes in preheated 375° oven or until edges are golden and center stays soft. Cut into 24 bars.
