Mexican cornbread casserole
Ingredients/Components
- grated cheese - 2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- can cream-style corn - 1 oz
- jalapeno cornbread mix - 1 pkg
- hamburger meat or fresh ground turkey - 1 lb
How to make mexican cornbread casserole:
Brown meat and chopped onion; add salt and pepper. Prepare cornbread mix according to directions and add cream-style corn. Layer ingredients in greased baking dish, beginning with 1/2 cornbread/corn mixture, 1/2 meat, 1/2 grated cheese and repeat the layers. Bake at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes or until browned.You may want to add a small can of diced green chilies to the cornbread mixture.
