  • flour - 1 item
  • margarine or butter - 3 Tbsp
  • Crisco - 1/4 c
  • medium onions, sliced - 2 item
  • liver, sliced 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick - 1 lb

How to make liver and onions:

Cook and stir onions in butter or margarine in 10-inch skillet until tender. Remover from skillet; keep warm. Heat Crisco in same skillet until melted. Coat liver slices with flour, fry liver over medium heat until brown, 2 or 3 minutes on each side. Do not overcook. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add onions during last minute of cooking to heat through. Makes 5 servings, 340 calories per serving.
