French onion casserole
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- margarine or butter - 3 Tbsp
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- grated Parmesan cheese - 3 Tbsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- dry sherry - 1/4 c
- medium onions, sliced - 4 item
- bouillon beef - 3/4 c
- plain croutons
- shredded Swiss cheese 1/2 c - 2 oz
How to make french onion casserole:
Cook onions in butter until tender. Blend in flour and pepper. Add bouillon and sherry. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Turn into a 1-quart casserole.Toss croutons with 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Spoon on onions. Sprinkle with cheeses. Put under broiler until cheese melts, 1 minute. Serve immediately. Serves 4 to 6.
