Liver and onions
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 3 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- dash of black pepper - 1 item
- large onion, sliced - 1 item
- chicken, pork or calf liver - 1 lb
How to make liver and onions:
Melt 2 teaspoons of butter in nonstick skillet. Add onion and saute over medium heat about 10 minutes. Remove onion from skillet. Melt remaining butter and add liver. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Brown over medium heat about 3 minutes each side. Distribute onion evenly over browned liver in skillet.In small bowl combine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and water, then pour over the liver and onion. Cook over medium heat for 2 or 3 minutes until most of the liquid is gone. Serving size: 1/4 recipe. Contains 184 calories per serving.
