Lima bean soup
Ingredients/Components
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- can whole tomatoes - 1 oz
- lima beans - 1 c
- or 3 bay leaves - 2 item
- bacon in small pieces - 1/4 lb
How to make lima bean soup:
Soak the lima beans in water overnight to soften or boil on stove top until soft. In a large saucepan, brown the bacon together with the onion. Drain excess grease. Add lima beans, tomatoes, bay leaves, salt and pepper. Simmer until beans are tender, 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
