Ingredients/Components
- bay leaf - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- shredded cabbage - 1 c
- bacon, cut up - 1 lb
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
- carrots, chopped - 2 item
- beef broth - 5 c
- can kidney beans - 1 oz
- dash of cinnamon - 1 item
- uncooked macaroni - 1/4 c
- cloves garlic, chopped fine - 2 item
- can tomatoes, chopped - 1 oz
- large potato, sliced - 1 item
- hot Portuguese sausage
- several cloves peppercorns - 1 item
How to make portuguese soup:
In a large pot, fry bacon until fat is rendered. Add onion, celery, carrot, garlic and potato; saute all until bacon is crisp and vegetables are golden.
