Ingredients/Components

  • half and half - 1 c
  • frozen peas - 1 c
  • medium onion, diced - 1 item
  • cloves garlic - 2 item
  • curry powder or to taste - 1 tsp
  • fresh ground pepper - 1 item
  • chicken stock - 2 c
  • carrot, diced - 1 item
  • medium potato, peeled and chopped - 1 item
  • celery stalk and leaves, chopped - 1 item
  • slices bacon, crispy fried - 6 item

How to make curried cream of pea soup:

Fry bacon crisp. Remove and drain. Cook all vegetables and garlic except peas in bacon fat until soft. Add curry and pepper, then 1/2 the chicken stock and peas. Simmer for 15 minutes. Puree in batches; return to pot. Whisk in remaining stock and half and half. Simmer on low until hot. Ladle into bowls. Top with crumbled bacon.
