- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 6 item
- flour - 4 c
- butter - 1 lb
- baking powder - 5 tsp
- candied pineapple - 1 lb
- candied red and green cherries - 1 lb
- shelled walnuts - 1 lb
- bottle pure lemon extract - 1 oz
How to make lemon pound cake:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Sift dry ingredients together; add alternately to creamed mixture with lemon extract. Stir in fruit and nuts. Bake in preheated 275° oven for 1 1/2 hours in greased and floured pans. Use an angel food pan or 2 loaf pans.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Weeknight.
