Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt
- flour
- butter - 6 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- egg whites - 4 item
- nuts optional - 1/2 c
- grated rind of 1 lemon
How to make lemon bread:
Cream the butter and sugar. Add egg whites, sifted dry ingredients, milk, nuts and grated lemon rind. Bake 1 hour at 350°. When baked, pour juice of one lemon and 1/3 cup sugar mixed together over bread while hot.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Oven.
