Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt
  • flour
  • butter - 6 Tbsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • egg whites - 4 item
  • nuts optional - 1/2 c
  • grated rind of 1 lemon

How to make lemon bread:

Cream the butter and sugar. Add egg whites, sifted dry ingredients, milk, nuts and grated lemon rind. Bake 1 hour at 350°. When baked, pour juice of one lemon and 1/3 cup sugar mixed together over bread while hot.
