Ingredients/Components
- tsp salt - 1/2 item
- tsp baking powder - 1 item
- eggs beaten - 2 item
- C sugar - 1 item
- C milk - 1/2 item
- 1/2 C flour - 1 item
- C margarine - 1/2 item
- C chopped nuts - 1/2 item
- grated peel of one lemon - 1 item
How to make lemon bread:
Cream margarine, sugar and eggs. Dust nuts and lemon peel in a little flour. Alternately add dry ingredients with milk. Add nuts and peel. Divide into 2 small greased and floured pans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until done.TOPPING: Lemon juice from one lemon, 1/4 C sugar. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Pour over loaves as soon as they come out of the oven. Cool 5 minutes and remove from pan.
