White fruit cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- butter - 3/4 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shredded coconut - 3/4 lb
- egg whites - 3 item
- white raisins - 1 c
- candied pineapple - 1 c
- almond or vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- maraschino cherries, drained - 1 c
- finely chopped citron - 1/2 lb
- nut meats pecans - 1/2 lb
- grated rind of 1 lemon or orange
How to make white fruit cake:
Sift sugar. Cream together sugar and butter until fluffy. Add flour, baking powder, milk, salt, extract and rind. Flour fruit in a little extra flour. Add to mix. Add nuts. Grease tube pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done.Recipe categories: Desserts, American, North american.
